Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 1 kg strawberries
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Wash the strawberries, remove the stems, and drain them.
- Spread the sugar and lemon juice over the strawberries in a pot.
- Place the pot over low heat until the sugar dissolves.
- When they begin to boil, start mashing the strawberries with a fork... place a few berries on a spoon, hold it over the pot, mash them, and return them to the pot... continue until you have mashed as many berries as you can or all of them.
- Let the jam simmer over low heat for about half an hour or until it reaches the thickness you like.
- Pour the jam into clean, sterilized jars, seal them immediately while hot, and turn the jars upside down until they cool.
- After opening a jar, store the strawberry jam in the refrigerator or keep it at room temperature.
