Pear jam made with a very easy recipe. If you love jams, you should try pear jam and take advantage of the season.
Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 1 1/2 kg whole pears
- 4 cups sugar
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon salt, or citric acid
- You will also need: A bowl of water and 1 teaspoon lemon salt to keep the pears from browning after peeling
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Wash the pears.
- Using the special tool used to hollow out zucchinis, core the pears from the bottom to remove the seeds while keeping the pears whole.
- In a large bowl, fill it with water and add 1 teaspoon lemon salt so you can place the pears in it immediately after removing the seeds and then peeling them. This will preserve the pears' light color.
- After that, start making the syrup. In a pot, combine the sugar and water without stirring until they heat well, and before it comes to a boil, lift the pears, drain them well, and place them directly into the syrup pot.
- Wait until the syrup boils only twice, then add the lemon salt and stir. Gently press the pears with a spoon while stirring to keep their shape.
- Leave them over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for about 1 hour.Timers: 60 min
- Turn off the heat and let the pear jam cool to room temperature, then pour it into glass jars and distribute some of the remaining syrup over the tops of the jars.
- Seal the jars tightly, and once opened, keep them in the refrigerator.
