Ingredients

- 2 cups plus 1/3 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 1/4 cups peeled, diced apple
- 3 eggs
- Muffin topping
- 1/2 cup soft butter
- 1/2 cup coarse brown sugar
- Caramel sauce
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- A dash of vanilla

Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Beat the eggs with the vanilla and sugar well.
- Add the oil, then add all the dry ingredients and beat well with an electric mixer.
- Mix the yogurt with the baking soda and, when it foams, add it to the batter.
- Turn off the mixer and fold in the apples and the toasted walnuts, dusted with a little flour.
- Spoon the muffin batter into cupcake liners.
- Mix the butter with the sugar by hand, then distribute the mixture over the top of the muffins.
- Place the muffin tins in a preheated oven and bake at 180°C for half an hour.
- To prepare the caramel sauce:
- Combine the milk with the sugar and baking soda in a pan over medium heat.
- Stir the mixture until the caramel turns brown.
- Add the vanilla and remove from the heat.
- Brush or dip the muffins in the caramel sauce while they are cold.
