Lahmacun Turkish-style... Lahmacun has many fans in Turkey as well. Here is the Turkish lahmacun method!
Ingredients
- For the dough:
- 5 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon salt
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 tablespoons yogurt
- 1 cup warm water
- For the filling:
- 250 g minced meat
- A large onion, finely chopped
- 2 medium tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1 cup chopped parsley
- 1 green bell pepper, diced small
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1/2 tablespoon sweet red pepper powder or paprika
- 1/2 tablespoon salt, or to taste

Method
- Mix the dough ingredients, gradually add the warm water and knead until you obtain a soft, uniform dough.
- Cover it with plastic wrap and a kitchen towel and leave it in a warm place to rest and rise.
- Prepare the filling: mix all the filling ingredients together, then put them in a sieve to drain excess liquid and keep in the fridge.
- When the dough has risen, divide it into medium-sized balls. On a clean surface, dust a little flour under each ball and roll each into a round.
- Place a little of the filling on each round dough disc, arranging them on oiled baking trays.
- Bake the Turkish-style lahmacun in a hot oven until the bottoms brown and they are cooked through.
