A very light and healthy date-syrup cake. Along with the benefits of date syrup, this recipe uses whole wheat flour so you can enjoy a nutritious dessert. Serve it to the kids too.

Date syrup cake — very healthy

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • vanilla
  • 1/4 cup date syrup
  • 1/4 cup milk (skimmed or low-fat)
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Beat the eggs and vanilla.
  2. Add the date syrup and beat.
  3. Add the milk and oil and beat again.
  4. Then add the flour and baking powder and stir with a spoon.
  5. Pour the date syrup cake batter into a small pan greased with butter and dusted with flour or greased with tahini only.
  6. Put it on the middle rack of the preheated oven at 150°C until cooked, watching it because it's small and won't need much time.
  7. Let the date syrup cake cool to room temperature before serving.
