Date Syrup Cake
A very light and healthy date-syrup cake. Along with the benefits of date syrup, this recipe uses whole wheat flour so you can enjoy a nutritious dessert. Serve it to the kids too.
Date syrup cake — very healthy
Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 2 eggs
- vanilla
- 1/4 cup date syrup
- 1/4 cup milk (skimmed or low-fat)
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp baking powder

Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Beat the eggs and vanilla.
- Add the date syrup and beat.
- Add the milk and oil and beat again.
- Then add the flour and baking powder and stir with a spoon.
- Pour the date syrup cake batter into a small pan greased with butter and dusted with flour or greased with tahini only.
- Put it on the middle rack of the preheated oven at 150°C until cooked, watching it because it's small and won't need much time.
- Let the date syrup cake cool to room temperature before serving.
