Easy Vanilla Cake

Easy vanilla cake is one of the best recipes when you need a simple cake that doesn’t require many ingredients or much prep, and it is also perfect for decorating with cream and fondant.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 200 g butter or 1 full cup
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 and 1/4 cups liquid milk
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 and 1/4 cups sugar

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Start by sifting the flour with the baking powder and salt into a deep bowl.
  2. In another bowl, beat the unsalted butter, then add the sugar and beat the mixture with an electric mixer for about 3 minutes until it thickens and becomes light and creamy.

  3. Add the eggs to the butter and sugar mixture and continue mixing on medium speed; then add the vanilla and continue mixing.
  4. Add the flour mixture to the egg mixture in 3 additions, adding a little of the cup of milk between each flour addition.
  5. Meanwhile preheat the oven to 180°C and prepare a wide cake pan; you can split the batter into two small pans depending on decoration needs.
  6. Pour the cake batter into the prepared pan either on a sheet of parchment brushed with a little butter or greased with tahini.
  7. Place the easy vanilla cake in the well-preheated oven and bake until it rises and is cooked, about 35 minutes or according to your oven.

  8. Do not open the oven door at all during baking; test the cake's doneness by inserting a wooden skewer into the center after the required baking time—if it comes out clean, the cake is done.
  9. When the cake is done, remove it from the oven and set it aside to cool before removing it from the pan and decorating as desired with fondant or cream.
