Chocolate Orange Cake
Chocolate Orange Cake... one of the most delicious rich cake recipes, combining two of our favorite flavors: chocolate and orange! A cake that is rich in flavor yet light at the same time.
Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 2 eggs
- 2 oranges
- A pinch of vanilla
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 cups flour
- 3/4 cup orange juice
- 3/4 cup yogurt or sour cream
- 3/4 cup cocoa, or you can increase the amount as desired
- A pinch of baking soda
- A pinch of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Beat the eggs well, add the vanilla, and continue beating for 2 minutes.Timers: 2 min
- Add the sugar and keep beating, then add the vegetable oil and beat for another 2 minutes.
- Add the flour gradually, alternating with the orange juice, yogurt, baking soda, and baking powder. Add the salt as well and continue beating.
- Finally, add the cocoa. You can increase the amount of cocoa if you want a stronger chocolate flavor and color.
- Peel the two oranges, then slice them into rounds or crescent shapes, as desired.
- Beat well, then pour half of the batter into a cake pan greased with tahini.
- Spread some of the orange pieces over the first half of the cake batter, then sprinkle chocolate chips over the sliced oranges.
- Pour in the remaining cake batter, then distribute the remaining orange pieces and chocolate chips.
- Bake the cake pan in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 40 minutes, or until the cake is cooked through and risen, depending on the strength of your oven.Timers: 40 min
- When you remove the cake from the oven, set it aside until it cools, then place it on a serving plate and dust with powdered sugar to decorate.
