Chocolate Orange Cake

Chocolate Orange Cake... one of the most delicious rich cake recipes, combining two of our favorite flavors: chocolate and orange! A cake that is rich in flavor yet light at the same time.

Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 oranges
  • A pinch of vanilla
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 3/4 cup yogurt or sour cream
  • 3/4 cup cocoa, or you can increase the amount as desired
  • A pinch of baking soda
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Beat the eggs well, add the vanilla, and continue beating for 2 minutes.
    Timers: 2 min
  2. Add the sugar and keep beating, then add the vegetable oil and beat for another 2 minutes.
  3. Add the flour gradually, alternating with the orange juice, yogurt, baking soda, and baking powder. Add the salt as well and continue beating.
  4. Finally, add the cocoa. You can increase the amount of cocoa if you want a stronger chocolate flavor and color.
  5. Peel the two oranges, then slice them into rounds or crescent shapes, as desired.
  6. Beat well, then pour half of the batter into a cake pan greased with tahini.
  7. Spread some of the orange pieces over the first half of the cake batter, then sprinkle chocolate chips over the sliced oranges.
  8. Pour in the remaining cake batter, then distribute the remaining orange pieces and chocolate chips.
  9. Bake the cake pan in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 40 minutes, or until the cake is cooked through and risen, depending on the strength of your oven.
    Timers: 40 min
  10. When you remove the cake from the oven, set it aside until it cools, then place it on a serving plate and dust with powdered sugar to decorate.
