Apple cake with crème caramel in a recipe that's simply unbeatable... Everyone has tried or knows the classic apple cake, but it's time to taste crème caramel with apples! Amazing.

Ingredients

  • 3 large apples or 5 small apples
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 200 g liquid whipping cream for desserts
  • Cake batter:
  • 4 eggs
  • 450 g plain yogurt
  • 1/4 cup warm milk
  • 1 cup oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 and 1/4 cups sugar
  • 2 and 1/3 cups flour
  • 2/3 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • A small pinch of salt

Method

  1. Grease the baking pan with butter and dust with flour, or line the pan with parchment paper
  2. Wash and peel the apples, remove the cores, then cut them into very thin slices
  3. To the side, in a pan over the heat.... put the sugar over low heat and let it melt and caramelize... then add the butter and the heavy cream and stir over low heat until the sugar melts again (because the caramel will seize when the cream is added)
  4. Pour the caramel into the pan and then arrange the apple slices over it
  5. Prepare the cake batter.. beat the eggs with the sugar, vanilla, a pinch of salt and the vinegar well
  6. Then add the yogurt, the liquid milk and the oil and beat well
  7. Add the sifted flour, baking powder and cornstarch in batches and mix
  8. Pour the cake batter over the pan and put it in a preheated oven at 180°C
  9. Leave the pan for 40 minutes on the middle rack of the oven or until the cake is done according to your oven's strength
    Timers: 40 min
  10. When the apple cake with crème caramel is done, take it out of the oven... wait for it to cool slightly then invert it
  11. Serve the cake cold at room temperature
