Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- Basil
- Garlic
- Peeled tomatoes
- Onion
- Dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon sugar (to preserve the tomato color)
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- Olive oil
- Salt
- Fresh hot pepper to taste — optional

Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Place all ingredients in a blender except the oil and vinegar, and blend until smooth.
- Pour the mixture into a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- When it boils, reduce the heat and let it simmer until the sauce thickens.
- While hot, ladle the pizza sauce into sterilized glass jars. Drizzle olive oil over the surface, add the teaspoon of vinegar, and seal the jars tightly.
- Turn the jars upside down and leave them like that for 24 hours — this helps preserve them so they can be stored outside the fridge until needed.Timers: 1440 min
