English Almond Cookies

Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 250 g butter
- 120 g powdered sugar
- 1 whole egg + 1 egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 400 g all-purpose flour
- 50 g cornstarch
- 100 g whole almonds
- Decoration
- Chocolate
- Chopped almonds

Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Beat the room-temperature butter until the mixture becomes creamy
- Add the powdered sugar and beat until the sugar disappears
- Add the egg and vanilla and continue beating
- Then add the sifted flour with the cornstarch and bring the dough together
- Toast the almonds in the oven for 10 to 12 minutesTimers: 12 min
- Roll the dough into small balls, fill each ball with one almond, then shape them by hand into an oval
- After finishing, place the almond cookies in a preheated oven for 12 minutes at 180°CTimers: 12 min
- Let the almond cookies cool
- Melt chocolate in a double boiler and dip the almond cookies, then place them directly on cupcake liners after shaping them by hand into ovals as well
- Decorate the cookies with chopped almonds, chocolate sprinkles (vermicelli), or as desired
