Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon cake spice (dakka)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- a very small pinch of baking soda
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 4 cups flour (add as needed to form the dough)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons date syrup
- sesame seeds
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Whisk the eggs, then add the sugar and beat well.
- Add the lemon zest and vanilla, then gradually add the oil and date syrup to the mixture while continuing to beat.
- Add the flour gradually, then add the cake spice (dakka).
- Mix the ingredients well and knead until you obtain a smooth dough.
- Shape the dough into rounds, rings, or any desired shape, then dip the cookies in sesame seeds.
- Place the cookie rounds on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 12 minutes, or according to your oven.Timers: 12 min
- Remove the cookies when they are light in color; do not leave them in the oven too long or they will become hard.
