Grape molasses cookies made with a recipe that relies entirely on molasses and uses no sugar to achieve a sweet taste. An easy, tried-and-true homemade recipe.

Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • 1 1/2 cups grape molasses
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon powdered milk
  • 2 eggs
  • Whole wheat flour and white flour, as needed

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Start by melting and mixing the grape molasses with the oil and butter, then add the eggs.
  2. Beat for several minutes until the eggs are well combined, then add the powdered milk and then the flour and baking powder.
  3. Add about 3 cups of flour, though the dough may need more to achieve a soft but cohesive, non-sticky dough.
  4. Shape the dough as desired into rounds or fingers.
  5. Dip the top side of each cookie in a plate of sesame, then place them on a tray lined with parchment paper or sprayed with oil.
  6. Place the tray in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 10 to 12 minutes or until the cookies brown.
