Very delicious and easy date kaak, with a tried-and-tested recipe that is sure to succeed! The ingredients are simple and available in every home, and they are guaranteed to impress your family and guests!

Ingredients

  • 6 cups sifted white flour
  • 1 teaspoon yeast
  • 1 teaspoon mahlab
  • 1 teaspoon kaak spice mix
  • 1 coffee cup anise seeds
  • Nigella seeds
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 2 cups liquid milk or 4 large tablespoons powdered milk + 2 cups water
  • Water can be replaced with boiled anise water

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. First, mix the dry ingredients, then add the oil and knead well.
  2. Add the milk gradually until you get a soft, smooth dough.
  3. Set the dough aside for 10 minutes.
    Timers: 10 min
  4. Meanwhile, prepare the date kaak filling.
  5. Mix the ground dates with a pinch of ground cardamom, a pinch of ground anise, and a little fennel.
  6. Add 1 tablespoon butter and knead the mixture well.
  7. Start shaping the dough: roll it out, add a little filling inside, roll it lengthwise, seal it, then shape it lengthwise and form it into rings as shown in the picture.
  8. Place the date kaak pieces in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 15 minutes, until cooked and golden brown... but do not leave them too long so they do not become hard...
