Shrimp Fajita Pie

Shrimp fajita pie is a delicious and distinctive pastry, and it's always nice to try new and creative recipes as a change of pace!

Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 5 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • Filling: instead of chicken fajita mix, shrimp was used

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. First, prepare the dough using the ten-minute method that does not require long fermentation.
  2. Put lukewarm or warm water with the sugar and yeast and stir a little, then add 2 cups of the flour.
  3. Leave the mixture after stirring to react with the yeast and sugar in a warm place for about 10 minutes.
    Timers: 10 min
  4. After the time has passed, add the remaining flour, salt, and oil and knead well.
  5. The dough may not need all of the flour, so the last cup can be reserved to add as needed.
  6. Knead the dough well then divide it into two parts; roll out the first portion into a rectangle and cut a baking paper in the shape of a fish and place it on the dough to make cutting and shaping easier.
  7. Transfer the fish shape to the baking tray, or you can roll the dough directly on the baking tray and cut it.
  8. Spread the shrimp fajita filling, cooled (not hot), over the dough then cut the second piece of dough into a fish shape, but larger than the template so the edges can be sealed well.
  9. Press the edges with a fork and prick the surface of the dough to allow air to escape from inside the pie.
  10. Brush the fish-shaped dough with egg white.
  11. Roll out the remaining dough and cut it with a round cutter to make circles to cover the fish's body, then brush them with egg.
  12. Bake the shrimp fajita pie in a preheated oven at 450 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden.
    Timers: 20 min
  13. For more delicious pastries, how about a pretzel pastry recipe?
