Whole-Wheat Cheese Puffs

Ingredients

- 5 cups whole wheat flour
- 2 tbsp powdered milk
- 2 tbsp active dry yeast
- 2 tbsp sugar
- pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 cups warm water
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup feta cheese
- 1 tbsp black seed (nigella) or nigella seeds
- sesame seeds, optional
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Start by preparing the dough. In a deep bowl, mix the yeast, sugar and warm water. Stir until the yeast dissolves a little, then add 2 cups of flour and the salt. Let the mixture rest for a few minutes.
- After a short rest, add the remaining flour to the dough mixture.
- Add the powdered milk and oil, and knead well until you have a smooth, cohesive dough.
- Cover the dough and set it aside while you prepare the cheese filling.
- Mix the mozzarella and feta with the nigella seeds. You can add sesame if you like.
- Roll the dough out on a flat surface. Cut into circles. Place a spoonful of filling in each circle and seal both the top and bottom edges well to form a boat shape.
- Bake the cheese puffs in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for about 12 minutes, or until cooked and lightly browned — oven times may vary.Timers: 12 min
