Ingredients

  • Cooked whole chickpeas
  • Thick bread (pita or flatbread)
  • Yogurt
  • A little tahini
  • Crushed garlic
  • Salt
  • Peeled, fried almonds

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Place the cooked chickpeas, drained of their cooking water, in the bottom of the serving dish.
  2. Cut the bread into small cubes with a knife and fry them in plenty of oil, stirring until they brown and toast; then drain them well and place them over the chickpeas.
  3. Whisk the yogurt with the tahini and salt, then pour it over the chickpeas and bread.
  4. Scatter the fried and lightly toasted almonds (fried with a little oil in a pan) over the surface and serve the chickpea fatteh immediately while hot.
