How to Make Lqtain Jam

Traditional Lqtain Jam
Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 1 kilo lqtain
- 1 kilo sugar
- 1 teaspoon citric acid
- 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
- Soaking the lqtain
- 2/3 cup lime
- 10 cups water

Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Peel the lqtain and cut it as desired
- Add lime (calcium hydroxide) and water to the lqtain and stir, then leave them for some time until the lime settles at the bottom of the container
- Strain off the water and leave the lqtain soaked with the settled lime at the bottom for 12 hoursTimers: 720 min
- After the time has passed, wash the lqtain well and let it drain
- Put one tablespoon of lemon juice on it, stir and leave it for ten minutes
- Add sugar so that it covers all the lqtain, then leave it to soak for 5 hoursTimers: 300 min
- Place the lqtain in a pot over the heat for about one and a half hours
- In the final stage, add the lemon juice, stir and remove the lqtain jam from the heat
- Pour the lqtain jam into jars or sterilized airtight glass containers and leave it to cool before sealing the jars or containers
