Kofta in a Tray (Oven-Baked)

Kofta in a tray: an easy, tasty homemade recipe.
Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 1 kilo kofta meat mixed with finely chopped parsley, onion, and spices
- 3 tomatoes sliced into rounds
- 2 onions
- 3 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons pomegranate molasses
- 3 bell peppers (mixed colors)
- A pinch of seven-spice blend
- A pinch of salt
- Oil for frying the kofta
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Shape the kofta as you like—into fingers or discs—and place them on a baking tray.
- Chop the onion and lay it over the kofta pieces.
- Put the kofta tray in the oven, broiling from the top until the desired color is achieved.
- In a separate pot, boil water and parboil the potatoes for about 2 minutes, then transfer to a colander and place over the kofta.Timers: 2 min
- In a separate bowl, mix water with tomato paste and salt and seven-spice. Pour this over the kofta tray.
- Chop the tomatoes and peppers into rounds and place them over the kofta; cover until the ingredients are cooked.
- Finally, add the pomegranate molasses mixed with a little water and drizzle over the kofta; bake until the top is browned.
- Serve the kofta in the tray with cooked rice, with or without vermicelli, as desired.
