How to Make Bone-In Lamb Leg

Bone-in lamb leg roasted in the oven with vegetables. This is a very delicious recipe that will outshine every other dish on the table! It is a must for special occasions and banquets, and it can also be served with rice.

Bone-in lamb leg... definitely a banquet recipe, or one for large, special family gatherings!

Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • Bone-in lamb leg
  • Onion pieces
  • Garlic cloves
  • Potatoes
  • Carrots
  • (Other vegetables as desired)
  • Bay leaves
  • Rosemary
  • Salt
  • Olive oil
  • Marinade
  • Black pepper
  • Nutmeg
  • Cardamom pods
  • Cloves
  • Turmeric
  • Onion powder
  • Garlic powder
  • Mustard
  • Tomato paste
  • Garlic slices
  • Also, Stuffed and Oven-Roasted Chicken

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Mix all the marinade ingredients... and rub the leg with this mixture.. cover it completely and be sure to make incisions in the leg and insert the marinade with slices of garlic into them
  2. Brown the leg briefly in a little oil, i.e., sear it over the stove until it takes a little color on all sides
  3. In the roasting pan.. place pieces of onion, cloves of garlic, pieces of potato and carrot, bay leaves and rosemary with salt and olive oil and mix them together
  4. Place the leg on top of them in the pan and add large pieces of vegetables (so they don't disintegrate if small, because the leg will take a long time in the oven) that are served with the leg (vegetables as you like)
  5. Pour one cup of water over the vegetables
  6. Cover the pan with aluminum foil and put it in the oven at 200°C for 3 hours or more depending on the size of the leg... and check frequently that there are juices at the bottom of the pan, and whenever the liquid decreases add a cup of boiling water so the meat doesn't toughen, then cover the pan again with aluminum
    Timers: 180 min
  7. Half an hour before removing the pan from the oven... remove the aluminum foil so the leg browns on all sides
