How to Make Sfouf with Orange Flavor

Orange-flavored sfouf is a variation on the traditional sfouf recipe, using orange juice flavor to give it a distinctive taste.

  • 1 1/2 cups medium semolina
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 small spoon turmeric
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • Zest of 1 whole orange
  • Almonds, as desired

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. In a bowl, mix the semolina, flour, turmeric, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  2. In another bowl, combine the milk and sugar and whisk well until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Add the oil and mix the ingredients well.
  4. Pour the liquid mixture over the dry ingredients and spread it into a tray lined with parchment paper or lightly greased with a little tahini.
  5. Top the sfouf mixture with the nuts.
  6. Place the tray in a preheated oven at 170°C for about 25 minutes, then brown the top slightly.
