Beef Roast Recipe - with Photos
A clear, detailed beef roast recipe and method. Prepare your beef roast and serve it to guests or at your special occasions for an elegant and delicious feast you won't forget.
Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 1 kg to 1.5 kg single piece of beef fillet
- 6 garlic cloves
- Rosemary
- 5 cardamom pods
- 250 g beef fat
- Salt
- Whole cloves
- Bay leaves
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Salt the meat and make small deep slits inside the meat while keeping its shape intact.
- Sprinkle a little black pepper on the meat and insert garlic cloves into the slits along with rosemary and cardamom pods.
- Cut the beef fat into long strips according to the length of the meat as shown in the accompanying photos, place them along both sides... and use heatproof twine to tie the roast.
- In a pan place whole cloves, bay leaves, rosemary and a little oil... brown the meat on both sides.
- Prepare a tray lined with foil or aluminum paper, wrap the meat in the foil and seal it, adding the oil and aromatics used to brown the meat plus 1 cup water and 1 teaspoon salt.
- Put the tray in a hot oven for two hours, turning the roast every hour so it cooks from all sides.
- Serve the beef roast alongside pommes purée, vegetables and roasted potatoes.
