Easy Turkish Delight with a tried-and-tested homemade recipe!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups sugar
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 1/2 cups fine white starch
  • 1 tablespoon ground mastic
  • Orange blossom water and rose water as needed for the mixture
  • Wait until the delight cools, then cut it into small cubes

Method

  1. In a small pot over heat, combine sugar, water, and honey until the mixture heats up and the sugar dissolves.
  2. ...Add the cornstarch, previously dissolved in a little orange blossom water and rose water... then add the mastic.
  3. Stir the ingredients until the mixture thickens over low heat.
  4. Separately, mix half a cup of cornstarch with half a cup of powdered sugar.
  5. Spread the Turkish Delight dough that formed in the pot over the powdered sugar and cornstarch mixture to your desired thickness.
  6. Wait for the Turkish Delight to cool, then cut it into small cubes.
