Homemade Sanioura Sweets
Sanioura is a famous sweet from Sidon in southern Lebanon. A delicious dessert made with few ingredients and baked for only a few minutes. Serve plain or fill with pistachios if you like.

Sanioura — the city of Sidon in southern Lebanon is famous for this delicious sweet.
Ingredients
- 2 cups ghee or butter
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 6 cups white flour
- A pinch of baking soda
- A pinch of vanilla
- Note:
- You can leave the sanioura plain or fill it with pistachios mixed with sugar and a splash of orange blossom water.

Method
- Mix the ghee with the powdered sugar, then gradually add the flour and mix.
- Add the baking soda and vanilla and mix well.
- Divide the dough into equal-sized pieces, then place each piece in the mold and press slightly.
- Tap the edge of the mold on the edge of the table so the Sanioura pieces drop out of the mold, then arrange them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Place the tray in a preheated oven at 220°C for only 3 minutes until the Sanioura turns yellow or golden.Timers: 3 min
- Serve once cooled.
