How to Make Tahini Cookies

How to make tahini cookies in a very easy recipe with simple ingredients and a taste everyone will love!

Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 115 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon liquid vanilla
  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • Sesame seeds
  • Black nigella seeds

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. First, mix the dry ingredients. Place the sifted flour in a deep bowl, add the salt and baking soda, and mix well.
  2. In another deep bowl, add the softened, unmelted butter and beat it with an electric mixer for several minutes.
  3. Add the sugar over the butter and continue mixing well with the electric mixer.
  4. Add the egg to the butter and sugar and continue beating with the electric mixer, then add the vanilla.
  5. Once the ingredients are well combined and the sugar has dissolved, add the tahini and continue mixing.
  6. Begin adding the flour mixture gradually, in batches, over the butter and tahini mixture.
  7. You will get a smooth, cohesive dough. Cover the bowl and place the dough in the fridge for about 30 minutes to chill.

  8. After the required time has passed, start shaping the tahini cookies.
  9. Shape them into circles, then roll them in a plate containing sesame seeds and black nigella seeds. Press each circle slightly so the white and black seeds stick to it.
  10. Place the tahini cookie rounds on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, leaving enough space between each cookie.
  11. Bake the tahini cookies in a preheated oven at 175 degrees for about 18 minutes. We do not want to overbake the cookies so they do not become hard.

  12. When the tahini cookies are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool before transferring them to a serving plate.
