How to Make Fried Madloula
The fried Madloula dough is a very delicious, easy dessert, and you can control its sweetness by the amount of syrup you add.
Ingredients

- 4 cups flour
- 1 1/2 cups warm milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon yeast
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 250 g butter
- A pinch of salt
- Syrup (qater/shira)
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Beat the eggs with the vanilla, then add the sugar and butter. Gradually add the flour and dry ingredients. Pour in the milk slowly and knead the mixture well.
- Let the dough rest and rise for 1 hour.Timers: 60 min
- Prepare the syrup in the meantime: put 2 cups sugar with 1 cup water; when the mixture boils, add 1 tablespoon orange blossom water and 1 tablespoon rose water plus 1 tablespoon lemon juice.
- Set the syrup aside.
- When the dough has rested, roll it out, cut into ropes, then braid them as shown in the accompanying photos.
- Fry the braided dough in hot deep oil and dip it in the syrup.
