Easy homemade cake... who doesn't love it?! We all do — it’s arguably the most famous homemade dessert our mothers used to make :) Children have loved it for generations :)

Ingredients

  • 5 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon tahini (for greasing the pan)

Method

  1. First, beat the eggs well for ten minutes and add the vinegar to eliminate any eggy smell.
  2. Add the sugar and beat until it dissolves.
  3. Add the oil then the milk and beat.
  4. Add the sifted flour, baking powder, and vanilla and beat well.
  5. Prepare the cake pan, grease it with tahini, and pour the homemade cake batter into it.
  6. Place it in a preheated oven on the middle rack at 180°C for 45 minutes or according to your oven's strength.
    Timers: 45 min
  7. Serve when it has cooled: turn it out of the pan and serve with tea, coffee, juice, or even milk.
