How to Make Turkish Ka'ak (Turkish Cookies)

How to make Turkish ka'ak with a delicious and easy recipe!
Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon mahleb
- 1 teaspoon ka'ak spice blend (dqqa)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- a small pinch of bicarbonate of soda
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 cups flour (or less, depending on the flour)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons date or carob molasses

Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Beat the eggs, then add the sugar and beat well.
- Add the lemon zest and vanilla, then gradually add the oil and the molasses while continuing to beat.
- Add the flour gradually, then add the mahleb and the ka'ak spice blend.
- Mix the ingredients well and knead until you get a smooth dough.
- Shape the dough into rounds, rings, or any desired shape, then dip the cookies in sesame seeds.
- Place the ka'ak rounds on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 15 minutes, or according to your oven.Timers: 15 min
- Remove the ka'ak when they begin to turn light in color — do not leave them in too long, or they will become hard.
