How to make Saffouf again... a very easy and delicious recipe, and therefore popular.
Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 4 cups flour
- 1 cup fine semolina
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup ghee (clarified butter)
- 2 and 1/4 cups milk
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon turmeric or 'Aqda Safra' (yellow food coloring)
- 1/2 cup syrup (shīrah) or qattar

Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Mix the dry ingredients together in a large bowl
- Add the remaining ingredients and stir very well until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is uniform
- Grease a baking pan with oil or tahini and pour the saffouf mixture into it
- Decorate the top of the saffouf with cashews
- Place the pan in the oven at 160°C on the middle rack for about 40 minutesTimers: 40 min
- Let the saffouf cool aside, then cut and serve
