Potato Stew

A traditional, family-friendly potato stew, inexpensive and easy to make. Ideal for families and kids.

Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • Pieces of lamb
  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • 4 crushed garlic cloves
  • A bunch of fresh coriander
  • 5 potatoes

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Fry the lamb pieces in the ghee. Add salt and spices to taste.
  2. If the meat is tough, braise it first before frying in ghee. When browned, add the crushed garlic and chopped cilantro and the mashed garlic. Stir the mixture, then add the potatoes cut into medium cubes.
  3. Stir the ingredients for several minutes, then add plain water or meat-cooking water.
  4. Cook the mixture until the potatoes are tender. You can add a bit of hot pepper or chili if desired.
  5. When serving, add lemon juice to the stew and serve with rice and vermicelli.
