Ingredients
- 3/4 cup lukewarm milk
- 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon melted butter
- 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon corn oil
- 1 large egg
- 2½ cups flour
- 1/4 cup plus 1½ teaspoons granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons yeast
- A jar of Nutella for filling
- Oil for frying
- Repeat the process until the dough is used up, cover them and let them proof for about 10 minutes..
Method
- First, combine the dry ingredients: flour, salt, yeast, and sugar.
- In another bowl, whisk together warm milk, egg, butter, and oil. Gradually add the dry ingredients, spoon by spoon, until a cohesive, soft dough forms.
- Let the dough rise for about an hour, then divide into small rounds. Roll each round and place a spoonful of Nutella on top. Cover with another dough round and use a circular cutter to cut and place on a parchment-lined tray cut into squares.
- Repeat until all dough is used. Cover and let rise for about 10 more minutes.
- Heat oil to high temperature, then reduce to medium-low and fry the donuts without touching them. Lower them into the oil with parchment paper until golden, then drain on kitchen towels and dust with powdered sugar.
