Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup lukewarm milk
  • 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon corn oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 2½ cups flour
  • 1/4 cup plus 1½ teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons yeast
  • A jar of Nutella for filling
  • Oil for frying
  • Repeat the process until the dough is used up, cover them and let them proof for about 10 minutes..

Method

  1. First, combine the dry ingredients: flour, salt, yeast, and sugar.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together warm milk, egg, butter, and oil. Gradually add the dry ingredients, spoon by spoon, until a cohesive, soft dough forms.
  3. Let the dough rise for about an hour, then divide into small rounds. Roll each round and place a spoonful of Nutella on top. Cover with another dough round and use a circular cutter to cut and place on a parchment-lined tray cut into squares.
  4. Repeat until all dough is used. Cover and let rise for about 10 more minutes.
  5. Heat oil to high temperature, then reduce to medium-low and fry the donuts without touching them. Lower them into the oil with parchment paper until golden, then drain on kitchen towels and dust with powdered sugar.
