Kentucky Fried Chicken-Style Fried Chicken
A classic crowd-pleaser, this clear and easy-to-follow method yields tasty chicken inspired by Kentucky fried chicken.
Ingredients

- 2 chickens
- seasonings for poaching the chicken
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (ground crackers)
- a pinch of salt
- a pinch of black pepper
- a pinch of chicken seasoning
- a pinch of hot red pepper
- a pinch of sweet red paprika
- garlic powder
- 5 eggs
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- a pinch of wild thyme (oregano)
- 1/4 cup liquid milk
- 1 cup corn flakes or ready corn chips
- Note
- (For the authentic Kentucky flavor, cut 4 onions into wedges and fry them in oil until golden ...then remove the onions from the oil and use the same oil to fry the chicken..
- Coleslaw
- 2 cups finely chopped white cabbage
- 1 cup grated carrot
- 1/4 onion finely chopped
- 1/2 cup liquid milk or 2 tablespoons powdered milk
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon sugar

Method

- Prepare two chickens, cut into 6 pieces; wash them well with vinegar, salt, lemon, and a tablespoon of flour
- Place the chicken on the heat with the poaching seasonings: onions, cinnamon sticks, cardamom, bay leaves and a pinch of salt... cover with hot water. - Prepare a bowl with 1 cup flour and 1 cup breadcrumbs (ground crackers), and add a pinch of salt, black pepper, chicken seasoning, hot pepper, a pinch of paprika, and garlic powder
- In another bowl beat the eggs with white vinegar, a pinch of oregano, and the liquid milk
- Also crush the corn flakes slightly by hand and place them in a separate bowl.
- Take the chicken pieces and start by dipping each piece first into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, then into the breadcrumbs (ground crackers), then into the egg again, and finally into the corn flakes bowl; continue until all pieces are coated... refrigerate them for two hours or fry them immediately in plenty of oil.
- Mix the ingredients and place them in the refrigerator until serving time
- Serve the fried Kentucky-style chicken with cabbage salad or coleslaw
