How to Make Bagel Bread
One of the best Western breads of all time! Try this special and easy bagel recipe and you’ll love it, whether served with labneh and za'atar or with a little butter and jam.
Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 1 kilo flour
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon yeast
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 30 grams butter
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- Egg yolk for brushing
- Sesame seeds and nigella seeds
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- First, mix the dry ingredients, then add the butter and oil and mix well.
- Add the water and milk gradually.
- Knead the ingredients until you get a smooth dough.
- Leave it for 1 hour until it rests and rises well...Timers: 60 min
- After proofing, divide the dough into balls according to the size you want.
- Roll out the dough so it is not thin, but about 2 cm thick.
- Take any round tool, a small cutter, or a plastic lid and shape the dough this way, then leave a hole in the middle as shown in the accompanying photos, similar to the way donuts are made...
- Let the dough rounds rest and rise again for about half an hour before baking.
- Brush the bagels with egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds and nigella seeds.
- Place the tray of bagel dough in a preheated oven and bake at 170 degrees until cooked through and golden brown.
