Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • 3 cups self-raising flour
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon 'aqdet safra' (yellow spice) or turmeric
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2¼ cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla – optional
  • Tahini for greasing the pan

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Sift the self-raising flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and 'aqdet safra' and mix them together
  2. Place the milk with the sugar over the heat and stir until the sugar dissolves
  3. Pour the milk and sugar over the dry ingredients and mix
  4. Add the oil and mix
  5. Grease the baking pan with tahini and pour the sfoof batter into it
  6. Sprinkle nuts on top as desired
  7. Bake the pan at 200°C for about 25 minutes

  8. Brown the top
  9. When the sfoof has cooled, cut it as desired and serve
