Ingredients

  • 2 cups chickpea flour
  • 2 cups plain flour
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1/2 cup melted ghee
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • Syrup, optional

Method

  1. Sift and mix the dry ingredients together.
  2. Add the milk, yogurt, melted ghee, and oil, and mix well.
  3. Grease a baking tray with butter and spread the batter in it. You can decorate it with nuts, if desired.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 150°C until cooked through. After 30 minutes, test it with a small wooden skewer, since the time needed depends on the rack level where you place the tray in the oven.
    Timers: 30 min
  5. When you remove it from the oven, brush the top with a little syrup so it shines. This step is optional.
  6. Serve the sfoof once it has cooled.
