Ingredients

  • 2 cups medium semolina
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons ghee (or clarified butter)
  • Pistachios for garnish, or as desired
  • Syrup
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Mix the sugar, semolina, and baking powder together, then add the ghee and yogurt and mix well
  2. Grease the baking pan with ghee and pour in the namoura mixture, smoothing the surface
  3. Let the namoura rest for two hours, then garnish with pistachios
  4. Place the pan in the oven and bake on the middle rack until the edges brown and it is cooked through
  5. Let the namoura cool completely at room temperature before pouring the hot syrup over it
  6. Serve the namoura once it has cooled again
  7. Syrup method:
  8. Mix the water, sugar, and lemon juice and stir
  9. Let them boil until the syrup thickens for about 10 minutes or slightly less
