  • 1 dry onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 potato
  • 1 carrot
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro (coriander), chopped
  • 1/2 cup brown lentils
  • Fresh green chard leaves
  • Salt
  • Juice of 2 lemons

Method

  1. In a deep pot over the heat, sauté the onion and garlic until they soften slightly
  2. Add the chopped fresh coriander (cilantro) and stir it with the onion and garlic
  3. Add about 3 cups of water over the onion, garlic, and coriander
  4. Add the potatoes and carrots cut into small cubes or to the desired size
  5. After several minutes add the lentils.
  6. When the lentils boil add the chopped green chard
  7. When the chard is cooked add the lemon juice and turn off the heat. You can increase or decrease the lemon juice according to taste
