Lentil Soup with Lemon
Lentil soup with lemon... a very nutritious and delicious soup. It contains Swiss chard and potatoes, in addition to lentils and lemon. This soup is vegetarian, but some like to add ground meat to it.
Lentil soup with lemon... an easy and quick soup to prepare, and most importantly, the result is delicious.
Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 4 Swiss chard leaves with their tender stems
- 1/4 cup red lentils
- 1 potato, peeled and cut into small cubes
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 2 tablespoons oil
- Juice of 2 lemons or 8 tablespoons
- A pinch of cinnamon
- A pinch of salt
- A pinch of cumin
- A pinch of white pepper
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- In a pot, heat the oil and sauté the chopped onion and crushed garlic until they soften
- After washing well, cut the chard leaves with their ribs into small pieces and add them
- Add the small potato cubes and stir
- After a short while or just a few minutes, add the washed, drained lentils and cover the pot's contents with water
- When the lentils are cooked, add the flour and stir well .. the flour helps thicken the soup slightly
- Add the lemon juice and spices and stir, then let the soup boil for only an additional three minutes and serve
