Ingredients

  • Dough:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sunflower oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Dough method:
  • Ingredients for the beef filling:
  • Finely minced beef
  • Finely chopped onion
  • Vegetable oil
  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch of seven-spice (baharat)
  • A pinch of black pepper

Method

  1. Mix the ingredients except the water.
  2. Add the water and knead. You can add a little more water depending on the type of flour and as needed.
  3. Prepare the filling: place the beef in a skillet and stir until it dries out (loses excess moisture).
  4. Add the chopped onion with the oil and cook until the onion softens.
  5. Finally add the salt and spices and stir.
  6. Let the beef filling cool slightly.
  7. Roll the dough out on a clean surface, cut to the desired shapes, then fill and seal. You can seal by hand or press the edges with a fork.
  8. Fry the sambousek stuffed with beef or bake them in the oven according to your preference.
  9. Note: You can use the same dough and fill it with cheese or vegetables instead of meat, according to your preference.
