- Custard ingredients:
- 4 tablespoons custard powder
- 2 cups milk
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- Ready-made phyllo sheets
Method
- Place the ingredients cold and stir continuously until the mixture sets; put it in a dish and let it chill in the refrigerator.
- Cut the phyllo into rectangles approximately 10 cm long. Place two pastry sheets on top of each other in a '+' shape.
- Put one tablespoon of custard in the center, then fold in the ends of the lower sheet, then roll the other sheet around it into a finger shape.
- Fry the custard-filled Zanoud al-Sitt in oil until golden, then let them cool and decorate the ends with melted chocolate and dip them in nuts or colored sprinkles.
- Garnish as desired and serve them cold.
