Ingredients

  • 730 grams all-purpose flour, equivalent to 5 cups of white flour
  • 20 grams, equivalent to 2 tablespoons of yeast
  • 20 grams, equivalent to 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 2 cups liquid milk or water, as needed for the dough
  • 2 tablespoons butter at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Method

  1. Start by kneading the dough for about 5 minutes after adding all the ingredients except the butter

  2. Add the salt and continue kneading, then add the butter and knead well for at least 15 minutes

  3. Once kneading is complete, place the dough in a warm spot until it doubles in size, for about 2 hours

  4. After the dough has risen and rested, start shaping it
  5. Cut the dough into small pieces and let them rest for 15 minutes

  6. Shape the dough into samoon bread or any shape you like
  7. Brush the dough with milk and sugar and let it rest for 10 minutes

  8. Preheat the oven to 190°C and bake for 15 minutes, or depending on your oven

  9. When the samoon is baked and lightly browned, remove it from the oven and cover it with a towel to keep it from drying out
