Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • Melted butter to grease the madeleine pan

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Brush the Madeleine mold with melted butter using a pastry brush, then refrigerate the mold for 10 minutes.
    Timers: 10 min
  2. In a bowl whip the butter until creamy, then add the sugar, vanilla and lemon zest and beat well.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
  4. Sift the flour and baking powder together in another bowl, then add them to the egg mixture and fold gently with a spoon.
  5. Spoon the batter into the molds.
  6. Bake the madeleine molds in a preheated oven at 170°C for 8 minutes.

  7. Let the madeleines cool at room temperature before serving.
  8. They can be dusted with powdered sugar when serving.
