Ingredients
- 1/2 kilo peeled wheat
- 2 tablespoons aniseed
- 3 cups sugar, more or less to taste
- 1 cup peeled almonds
- 1 cup currants

Method
- Place the wheat in a deep bowl, cover it with water, and leave the wheat soaked overnight
- The next day wash the wheat well and put it in a pot with plenty of water and leave it over very low heat for about 4 hours, stirring occasionally and adding water if it runs lowTimers: 240 min
- Continue boiling the wheat until the grains are cooked and each kernel puffs up
- Add the anise and sugar and continue stirring the wheat
- When the wheat is fully cooked and the mixture is cohesive, add raisins and peeled almonds - quantity according to taste
- Pour the habboubieh into cups or a wide serving bowl and garnish with grated coconut, almonds, more raisins, and a light sprinkle of finely ground anise
