Semolina Cone Sweets with Dates
A wonderful recipe for making biscuits or ka'ak cones with semolina and dates. A tried-and-tested homemade recipe made with simple ingredients, and we highly recommend giving it a try.
Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup semolina
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- A pinch of vanilla
- Pitted dates
- A pinch of ground cinnamon
- A pinch of ground cardamom
- A pinch of fennel
- A pinch of anise
- Fennel and anise, to taste
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Mix the flour with the semolina, baking powder, vanilla, and salt, then add the water and oil, meaning all the ingredients except the dates.
- Knead the dough, then let it rest for 10 minutes. Divide the dough into small balls, and do the same with the dates.Timers: 10 min
- Then flatten each dough ball and place a small ball of date filling inside.
- Roll the dough into a Swiss roll shape, sealing the sides well.
- After finishing the rolling, fry the date-filled dough rolls in oil, then sprinkle granulated sugar over them while they are still hot so it sticks.
- Cut them in half with a knife and arrange them on a serving platter.
