Red Sauce Vegetarian Pasta
Red sauce pasta without meat—many prefer a vegetarian pasta. Enjoy a tasty spaghetti in red sauce with just a few ingredients in minimal time.

Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 1 large onion
- 1 clove garlic (or to taste)
- 1 coffee-cup vegetable oil
- Spaghetti pasta
- Grated 3 tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste or tomato sauce
- Salt
- Cinnamon
- Black pepper
- A very small pinch of turmeric (optional)
- Oregano, a pinch

Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Sauté the chopped onion in vegetable oil along with the chopped garlic until they soften
- Add the tomatoes and tomato sauce and stir
- Add the spices or seasonings, herbs, and salt and stir, then add two cups of hot water
- Add the pasta without pre-boiling and leave it to cook so it absorbs more of the sauce's flavor; if using pre-boiled pasta, reduce the amount of water
- Let the red pasta simmer until cooked and serve
