A successful homemade everyday cake recipe. Several details in this recipe make the cake turn out great and rise a lot even though it uses only two eggs.

Everyday dry cake with only two eggs

Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • 2 eggs at room temperature
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 100 ml oil
  • 100 ml carbonated water or 7-Up
  • 1 cup liquid milk
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 2 1/4 cups flour

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. In the mixing bowl, place the eggs, vanilla and sugar and beat on high speed until the mixture turns white and doubles in volume.
  2. Gradually add the oil and beat.
  3. Separately, mix the vinegar with the milk and add it to the mixture and beat.
  4. Sift the flour with the baking powder and a pinch of salt and add them over the everyday dry cake mixture; add the dry ingredients gradually and beat until the flour disappears.
  5. Pour the mixture into a buttered pan dusted with flour.
  6. Place the pan into a preheated oven at 170°C for 45 to 50 minutes depending on the oven's strength.

  7. Let the cake cool completely at room temperature before inverting it onto a serving plate.
