Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 5 tbsp corn oil
  • 1 tbsp instant coffee (Nescafé)
  • A pinch of salt
  • ½ tbsp vanilla
  • 2 ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1¼ cups water
  • 1½ cups flour
  • Greasing the cake
  • ¼ cup water
  • ½ tbsp instant coffee
  • Decorating the cake
  • Colored chocolate shavings
  • Chocolate sauce

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Sift all dry ingredients together.
  2. Add the liquids and mix well until the batter is smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into a small greased cake pan (lightly brushed with corn oil).
  4. Bake on the middle rack at 180 °C for 25–30 minutes, depending on your oven.
    Timers: 30 min
  5. When the cake is done, dissolve ½ tbsp instant coffee in ¼ cup water and brush the cake with it.
  6. Finish the Crazy Cake with chocolate sauce and colored chocolate shavings.
