Magic Cake with Cheese, Egg-Free
A wonderful recipe for making magic cake with cream cheese, without eggs. You can adjust the amount of syrup poured over the cake to suit your preferred level of sweetness.
Ingredients

- 2 cups sifted flour with a pinch of salt
- 1 cup sugar, or to taste
- 1 cup liquid milk
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- A pinch of vanilla
- Orange zest or lemon zest
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar - optional
- Cream cheese triangles - cut each piece into two halves
Method

- Whisk the sugar, milk, and vanilla until the sugar dissolves using a mixer or by hand...
- Add the oil and orange or lemon zest, whisk a little, then add the sifted flour with the baking powder and a pinch of salt in batches
- Pour the batter into a pan greased with butter and dusted with flour, then place slices of cheese on top — each slice of cheese facing another slice
