Chinese-style rice with fried or grilled fish fillet!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rice
  • 2 1/4 cups water
  • 1/4 cup (or less) soy sauce, to taste
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • Mixed vegetables: carrot, cabbage, green onion, bell pepper (slice thinly)
  • Fish fillet seasoned with garlic and lemon
  • Ground cumin
  • Salt
  • Parsley (dried or fresh)

Method

  1. Heat the oil in a wide skillet until hot.
  2. Add the clean rice (do not rinse) and stir until the grains become lightly golden.
  3. Carefully add the water and soy sauce and cook the rice as you would normally.
  4. Two minutes before turning off the heat, add the thinly sliced vegetables.
  5. Drizzle two tablespoons of soy sauce over the vegetables and cover for two minutes, then turn off the heat and fold them into the rice.
  6. Serve the Chinese-style rice alongside oven-grilled fish fillet, or lightly dust the fillet with flour and deep-fry in hot oil.
