Recipe story

Rice Pudding from the Quickest Home Dessert Recipes

Ingredients

  • 1 liter of milk
  • 1/2 cup powdered milk
  • 2 small cups of rice
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground mastic
  • 1 tablespoon orange blossom water
  • 1 can liquid dessert cream or a can of Qimar cream
  • Pistachios for garnish

Method

  1. To make the rice pudding, rinse the rice once, leaving some of the starch on it. Soak it in liquid milk and refrigerate it overnight.
  2. After that time, mix the dry milk with 1 liter of liquid milk and place them over medium heat, stirring until it boils. Drain the rice and add it to the boiling milk.
  3. When the rice grains are cooked, add the sugar and continue stirring; you can increase the amount of sugar according to how sweet you want the rice pudding.
  4. Wait for the mixture to boil, then leave it on low heat and stir occasionally until the milk thickens slightly. Remove the pot from the heat, add cream or clotted cream (qaimar), mastic, and orange blossom water, and stir; then return the pot to the heat.
  5. When the rice pudding boils once, remove it immediately from the heat. Pour it into serving bowls or glasses and garnish with pistachios.
  6. Serve the rice pudding cold or at room temperature.
