Recipe story

A delicious and very tasty 7 Up cake in an easy, tried-and-tested homemade recipe! You’ll love this cake and make it for all your sweet occasions :)

Ingredients

  • 5 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons powdered milk
  • 3 cups sifted flour
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 cup 7 Up
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • Note:
  • It is important to use the same cup size for all ingredients. Also, make sure the eggs are at room temperature.

Method

  1. First, beat the eggs, sugar, and vanilla well with an electric mixer until you get a creamy, white mixture.
  2. Add the vegetable oil, powdered milk, vinegar, soda or 7 Up, and grated orange zest, and continue beating the mixture.
  3. In another bowl, sift the flour, baking powder, and salt, then add the flour mixture over the egg mixture.
  4. Beat the ingredients with a wooden spoon or a whisk, or use a hand mixer, until you get a smooth, homogeneous batter.
  5. Divide the 7 Up cake batter into two parts: leave the first part plain, with no additions.
  6. In the second part of the 7 Up cake batter, add the cocoa powder.
  7. Hold both batters, one in each hand, and pour them at the same time into a cake pan greased with oil and lightly dusted with flour.
  8. Place the 7 Up cake pan in a preheated oven at medium temperature for 40 minutes, or until it rises and is cooked through depending on your oven, without opening the oven at all.
    Timers: 40 min
  9. Remove the cake from the oven after it is done and set it aside to cool completely before turning it out onto a serving plate and decorating as desired..
